SAAB looks to grow at Mawson Lakes

Saab Technologies AustraliaDefence contractor Saab Systems with operations at Mawson Lakes is poised to diversify the business into new areas like air traffic control under new MD Dean Rosenfield as reported by AdelaideNow.

The Australian operation of the global defence and security company is hoping to sign with ASC for work on its $65 million ship control management and monitoring system upgrade of the Collins Class submarines by the end of this year. And the company’s civil arm Saab Security, established by Mr Rosenfield in his former role in 2007, has won a contract to install electronic security to a 1000-bed men’s prison in New Zealand.

Three weeks ago the Mawson Lakes-based company also won a combat management training contract in India and is also bidding to provide surveillance systems in a Macau casino.
“We’re looking to contract another 30 staff hopefully, but with different skill sets,” said Mr Rosenfield, a former officer in the Australian Army.
